Anthony Ivo is the Genious creator of Amazo and Lira among other cybernetic organism that are way ahead of these times. He was captured and lobotomized by the Justice Lords in 1999. Superman ordered the the lobotomy under the premise that a man so obsessed with immortality cannot be reformed. Batman opposed Superman decision claiming that the knowledge on Ivo’s brain will be impaired by the lack of drive and he wouldn’t be able to help built robots for the Justice Police. Batman was right and Ivo is now almost a vegetable on Arkham Asylum. The location of Professor Ivos Lab is still unknown.

In Professor Ivo’s files it was found that he discovered how to duplicate powers dissecting the body of an Appellaxians.

While Amazo has continued to be a recurring threat to the Justice League, Professor Ivo has created other androids that have plagued the League besides Amazo. His androids were responsible for the deaths of the other members of the JLA, like Steel . Steel was killed outright by one of the Ivos Androids.

Anthony Ivo forms a vitriolic working relationship with fellow mad scientist Thomas Oscar Morrow. Together, the two men create the android Tomorrow Woman, with Ivo working on her body and Morrow creating her brain. Within her body they conceal an EMP bomb wired to go off at a specific time and kill the whole Justice League. Though the two work well together, their personalities clash, and they bicker constantly, frequently exchanging insults. When Tomorrow Woman gains free will and refuses to kill the Justice League, Morrow secretly rejoices, as he feels this proves once and for all that he is the more intelligent man. Later, when they are imprisoned together, Morrow reports Ivo’s escape plans after growing weary of Ivo’s boasting. Despite this, they maintain a friendship of sorts, and Ivo appears to hold no grudge.
